Travel football? No, unless it is 7 on 7. This was a local youth sports league. Unfortunately, this type of behavior is not uncommon at youth league football in Texas. We had flag football coaches fighting refs on a field next to us when my son was 8 years old in Amarillo. Got the kids out of there pretty quick. Don't forget the youth football coach that got shot/killed in August 2022 in Lancaster, TX. It's mostly trash these days.

Unless they start policing the stands much more closely and kicking people out before it gets to the point of altercation, this kind of thing will continue. Needs to remove parent and their kid from the field and ban them permanently from the league and park. Maybe if they are costing their kid a chance to play the game it would curb some of the stupidity but doubtful.

TBH, Harlem Road Park isn't a bad area. It's the parents that make up the teams.

The fact that they have to clarify this is alarming

It really is a shame that you even have to say this out loud

Buddy of mine had just pulled up with his wife and kids immediately after it happened. His son's team was supposed to be the next game.

Not even Pecan Grove is immune to thug violence from parents at a youth sporting event.

coaches on same team fighting because they didnt like how the other was calling the other side of the ball, coaches fighting refs(1 time they were brother in laws ) parents fighting coaches, parents coming on the field and whooping kids cause they missed a tackle etc

so they put sheriffs at every game.

I can attest to this! Thornton 7A is the best team to ever come through RTMS. Hell, 7B would probably beat every other A team in the district also.
