Those of you who have bought in and done well, how did you handle financing and liquidity requirements?

I've always wondered this as well. I can't imagine all of these franchise owners having that much liquid money but maybe im wrong

They did that on MacArthur Drive in Ellick.I used to go to BK for a Whopper and then to MD’s for fries.

I recently purchased a childcare franchise after many years as a corporate drone myself. I was able to utilize my 401k without taking a tax hit through a program called a ROBS (Rollover as Business Start-up) transfer. Essentially your business becomes your 401k, which is why there are no up-front tax consequences. It’s got a number of restrictions, but I could not have purchased our franchise without this program.

The 401k borrow is an interesting idea, a and something I would certainly consider. Thanks for the reply.

Every time I see a failed small business, I think that some poor bastard probably cashed out his 401k trying to keep it afloat. Did not know that they could use it for startup.

Maybe I’m mistaken or he was blowing smoke up my butt. I do know he does very well and his wife doesn’t work.

I went to a Hopdoddy burger place (no idea if they franchise) that was cashless. Made me think it be way easier to have a food place if you weren’t worried about the employees robbing you blind.

That way you can burn through all of it on the front end of your fiscal death spiral.

I firmly believe a new Weinersnitzel that is not in the hood would kill it.

You left out one pretty important ingredient. Hint: they’re red with seeds on the outside
