We’ll need a more detailed description before proper advice can be given.

He’s gonna knock her up. Make sure she is on birth control. You can’t get him clipped. Talk to the Dad. He knows what fricking is all about.

He may do a MLS next...or whatever it’s called, this fall. ECNL, IDK, he has coaches very interested in keeping this going, but he also has school sports.

Bunch of dumb asses in here telling him to end the relationship
you’d only serve to make the kid hate your guts

Flex that old man muscle. Gab him by the neck, hold him against the wall, get in his face and tell him “You don’t have to like me but you will respect me”. Make sure some spit flys out of your mouth while you do this. Tony Soprano Style

You need to find your son one of those "fun" teachers. He will get some and grades should improve. Only answer imo

I hope you realize almost every piece of advice you’ve gotten so far is gonna make him rebel worse lol

Former HS coach here.
Lots of kids give up sports they’ve played while growing up. They realize there’s other things out there in the world.
Mandate time with you and your son. Have a standing 4hr thing y’all do together. One of my kids liked hanging out on the porch cooking. The other loved watching Marvel movies and discussing them. Build the rapport back then use that influence to guide them down the right path
HORMONES are a MFer. They are a bubbling cauldron of emotion. Treat outbursts appropriately. I handled them calmly in the moment then circled back with consequences when things calmed down (usually 30mins)
Teen Kids gravitate to firm, fair, and stable

Yup. Go ahead and break the kid up with his girlfriend and hit a teenager and find out with the quickness how fast you will lose your son.
When I was young and my parents made an ultimatum about a girl I decided I would be a man and do things myself. I made myself 100% financially independent but this took moves that hurt me in the long run. The girl was a bitch and I wish I would have taken my parents’ advice, but I had to find that lesson out myself. Telling someone to abandon the person they think they love or else face violence was unsurprisingly losing parenting.

He sounds about like me between 15-18. You couldn’t pay me to give a shite about anything but girls, beer, weed and just being an a-hole in general.

Your problem is he thinks he’s in love with this chick. Remind him there are a lot of other fish in the pond.

I’d get to know the girls’ parents. They may be struggling with this, as well. Open your doors to his friends if you don’t already; be that house where kids are welcome (and fed). Limit sarcasm, which is hard as hell. For what it’s worth, it got better for us when our sons were a couple of years older.

this is the worst time. when he is about 25 he will laugh at this and thank you for being his parent and not his best friend.
