Pointless.

‘Walking for peace’. Might as well write a check made out to ‘Science’

We saw them when they skirted around Athens. A coupe of those jokers were barefoot.

They came thru Auburn/Opelika. The police escorted them and kept them safe. I admire anyone walking that far.

Started in Fort Worth en route to DC and one gets hit by a car near Houston. Those monks need a map.

Great joke about Baptists sneaking off to drink, but legend has it that whiskey was invented by Irish Monks. They called it “the drink of life”. Either way I’m glad for it.

They came through SW Louisiana a few weeks ago. Someone said one got hit by a car along the way.

One did and lost part of his leg. I've followed their facebook page on the journey, pretty cool to see the way most places have welcomed them. The have a stray dog they adopted with them on the trip, Aloka the Peace Dog. He recently needed surgery on a leg and a vet in one of the cities they stopped at did the surgery and rehab for no charge.

Just wonder if a group of southern Baptist doing the same thing would draw as much praise and attention? Doubtful.

They would not get as much attention. No one wants to see regular looking people in regular clothes. Monks just look cooler. And they are.

If a monk is a true monk, they would do it for themselves not for the publicity, the glory or for anybody else’s cause

I really didn't know that they did anything other than fried chicken crawls.
