If you want your vertrebral artery torn from neck manipulations causing you to stroke/die then i guess they are legit.

This ole boy didn't promise me wonders. He said they do three treatments if its not better than he said he would refer me to a PT if needed. He sat down and gave me a bunch of back excersises to do on my own. Explained the breakdown of the back and what the point is. He did say there was no point to going if I didn't stretch or do the excersises. I expected him to tell me how awesome he is and how I need to come back for maintainance etc. I expected a quack. He was recommended and came across as giving a shite and not promising the moon or roping me into long term shite. He really stressed muscle strength and gave me a pamphlet on particular excersises for what I was in for. I was perplexed when I left. I expected a cattle market of people just passing through and popping backs. That's why I'm confused. I thought about a PT and thought I'd give this guy a whirl first
I felt the same way when I was drunk one time and this ugly chick convinced me to crawl in a back seat with her.
Are y'all still dating or something?

It's based on quackery.
Every chiropractor I ever met couldnt get in to medical or dental school. Nobody says in undergrad "I want to be a chiropractor".
Every aspect of chiropractic is based on subluxation, which we all have.

He didn't do my neck but I did ask him about it rather bluntly. His response was 11 people since like 1950 according to his insurance company. I asked a shitload of questions. He spent probably 45 minutes with me. Not including the tens unit/ ice on my lower back.

The issue I have with chiropractors is that they think cracking your back fixes everything. Don't need vaccinations… Crack your back, etc. If you have to go see someone every week for the rest of your life then they are not fixing you, they are just treating the symptoms.
There are very specific joint ailments that chiropractors are really good for. But they will crack you no matter what is going on and tell you you need to do that for the long term.

Years ago, there were billboards up on every road entering the state that said " Welcome to Louisiana. The only state that doesn't license chiropractors".

I would try anything before having back surgery. Can never go back if it doesn't work.

Resulting in death I should add. What were their outcomes?

None dead, all had veterbral artery dissection
Time and place for everything and everything has its risks, not saying to not go to one , but calling bullshite on only 11 cases in 65 years

Not if you have a real problem.

I'd like to see one for the satisfaction of having every joint in my body cracked

Not a chiro but I seriously doubt he said you had spina bifida. My guess is he said you had spondylosis or spondylolisthesis. If your going to bash somebody, at least get your story straight.

No.
They are treated like doctors because of effective lobbying.
They are glorified physical therapists on a good day.

I had bad back spasms and couldn't stand up straight after riding tractor all day then bent over to pick something up.
Called to get doctor appt. Said itd be a month. I couldnt reach up above my head at this point.
Went to chiropractor out of desperation. Two adjustments and i never had a need to go back. Was back to normal and that was 2 years ago.
I have done dry needling in my shoulders which helps, but havent found the "cure" for my bad lavader and trap cramps/knots.

I find that they are useful, if you chose carefully what you go to them to have treated. I have been a couple of times when I had legit issues with a joint that they popped back into place and I was done with it.
on the other hand, they milk the shite out of the system by claiming that they can fix a whole lot of stuff (i.e. hemmoroids, sinus infections, etc.) that really have no connection to popping my back.

You should probably go see a Nurse Practitioner.. they seem to be able to treat everything. They specialize in everything.

They are in fact doctors.
Not, in fact, Medical Doctors. Mostly quacks, based on what I've seen many claim.
