NWA is awesome if you like the outdoors. The bottom half of Arkansas is similar to north La. The gulf coast of Mississippi is much nicer than the rest of Mississippi. So do you prefer hills, lakes and tornados or beaches, saltwater and hurricanes?

NW Arkansas/SW Missouri vs East of Mobile bay gulf coast is a better debate

Little rock is just as shitty as BR. NW Arkansas is nicer than MS gulf coast, I don't do snow+mountains so I would prefer MS gulf coast. A summer in the Ozarks is amazing.

LR is much better than BR. Its not even close.

Like 90% of the crime in Little Rock is contained south of 630.

The suburbs are much better, Maumelle, Bryant, Benton, Cabot > Denham, Prarieville, Central, Port Allen

Plus they passed the Learns act. Allows for public school choice or a stipend regardless of income to use towards private school education

Little Rock sits right where the state starts getting pretty as you move SE to NW. It’s a decent metro.

Baldwin COunty AL better than both

This I travel to OS and the MS Gulf Coast daily and live in Baldwin Co… without question the MS Gulf Coast is an absolute shite hole by comparison. One simple test…travel down 90 between Biloxi and Pascagoula, you’ll see 1000 homeless, nary a one in Daphne or Fairhope.

Grew up and lived around Gulfport for the first 25ish years of my life.

Have lived in MO for the last 8 or so and travel throughout northern Arkansas a ton for work.

This is accurate:

do you prefer hills, lakes and tornados or beaches, saltwater and hurricanes?

Also, do you want four seasons or summer and Christmas?

There are a lot of the rural Ozarks that still look and feel like it's the 1980's, which I like. The Coast feels like a rat race.

I’d choose Ocean Springs, MS over anything in Arkansas
Ocean Springs has a cute area for a few blocks, but it isn't much.

Apples and oranges. And I’ve spent much time in both.

I do really enjoy Ocean Springs, but that is correct. Its like 2-3 blocks of cool little stuff.

Hot Springs wins the battle of the Springs.

My grandma was from Ocean Springs, I get they've made the downtown nice but the place seems overrated to me.

Google map Mountain View AR and draw a circle out about 60 miles and anywhere within that circle is absolutely HOE. Beautiful country, great people and a fantastic area to visit. You can't expand the circle any further even though you miss some fantastic places because it would take in Little Rock and Memphs....sorry.

To be fair, can we consider what the MS Gulf Coast has as beaches?

I too had your perspective of Arkansas a couple of years ago. My wife (no pics) and I went on a three week R/V trip to six spots across Arkansas. I was blown away by the diverse geography and the natural beauty. Believe it or not, one nice aspect was that the vast majority of the towns you go thru are small. It is almost like going back in time to the 1960s or 1970s. A very enjoyable experience.

It amazes me how clueless people from SLA are about the rest of the world. This thread is a perfect example.

Arkansas

When we were teenagers we took a canoe and a friend of mine dad's 9.8hp Mercury Tiller Outboard on it to the Buffalo River.

All the losers could only go down river but we were going both directions drankin, laughing and cutting up.

When we got done the rocks had grinded the prop to nothing and his dad put foots in asses, good times
