You don't want one of those.

What you need is a booksack, son.

I haven't been to school in nearly 30 years but going back this fall. I need a backpack that will carry a laptop, iPad, and 3 large text books. Most backpacks I see do not have very much room for the text books. Is Jansport still the go to backpack?

Same.

Padded laptop slip inside, separate compartments for shite, plenty of room. I used to use it for IT field work before my desk job, now it's general purpose mostly filled with hunting shite. Very good water resistance. Comfortable, small, cheap.

I’ve used a bunch for travel. North face strap fell apart on me so they are out. Patagonia has done really well. Swissgear has done very well. LL Bean has some nice ones but I’ve not used one. I have a 511 tactical briefcase for to and from work and it’s held up very well. I think they make a backpack as well. Good luck!

High Sierra Wheeled Backpack

I use this on occasion to the office and every time I travel domestically or internationally. First one lasted 8 years. Now on my second.

Why not download Ebooks and not carry 3 books since you have a ipad. You could also probably just use the ipad instead of the laptop as well.

I am taking 3 classes and I need 4 books. Only one is an e-book. One of these books is tree fiddy so it's going to be like a phone book.

Wenger

Be picky, I have an older one that is more their traditional style that is great, I picked up a more modern looking one and I am not a fan. It is still quality, and it has some nice features, but just doesn't work as well.

I know it’s North Face, but the Recon has a tremendous amount of storage and compartments.

I’ve had them all. Ogio, Moosejaw, Osprey, Mountain Hardware. This is by far the best for work or school. Comes in a large variety of colors.

ETA. The straps are the most comfortable I’ve ever used

Chews tobacco out a mail pouch sack. Had an old dog that was trained to attack. Sometimes.

Go to Dell and check as they have a bunch of laptop backpacks to at least give you an idea.

Do you happen to have an AMEX Business Platinum? They give you a $200 Dell credit every 6 months. I bought a nice Timbuk2 LINK with my credit as we travel a lot and this expands to be a perfect carry-on bag if you stuff it like I do. Fits my laptop and shoes/clothes, etc. I'm sure there's other ones more geared towards what you want. Alienware has some cool laptop bags as well.
