Barrett-Jackson website has a stream running all day, but without Mike Joy, Hoovie, Steve Mags, and April. You get full volume auctioneer from beginning to end. It's like a jack hammer, but it's streaming.

Looks like you can get some decent deals.

I like looking at the sold sticker lady she always wears leather

I was told by a friend who witnessed it that Craig Jackson, the CEO of Barrett-Jackson, was punched in the face by some guy in front of hundreds at the opening "gala" last Sunday night. I haven't heard the backstory but according to friends who have worked for him Jackson is a prick (and a notorious boozer). He does have an incredibly punchable face.

This ZR1X is incredible. My money is on Rick Hendrick buying it. Will it go over over $1 million?

I know it’s kind of cheesy but I like watching the big ballers bid up these VIN 1 or first production cars and then one will concede to the other for the purchase, especially when the proceeds go to charity.

I really love this package. First the ZR1X is just perfect...awd from the hybrid system + a monster motor. Then the color is just beautiful. One of a kind all around.

Oh my gosh, I'm in love. That color!
They didn't show that on the Instagram story!

On a much smaller scale, last year, a group I am involved in was auctioning a new GT3 RS for Cystic Fibrosis. It was a big deal for us as we had never auctioned a car and this was our 10yr anniversary. Porsche let us do this at the center in ATL, covered the air freight and tariff as well as letting us have a special PTS/sonderwusch allocation. I think the sticker was $350k which we paid. Auction comes and 2 guys in the room wanted it. It stalled out at like $580k when one guy tells the other guy, "I'm out on the car but if you'll pay $600k I'll match the amount over sticker as a donation." So we made $500k after paying for the car and both guys got a decent tax deduction. Baller status.

We are at the auction and just talked with a guy that was there Sunday. He knew nothing about the “incident “.

Truth be told, if I was in the market for a pickup truck, I'd seriously consider hitting their auction.
I've seen mid 70 Chevy's and Fords go between $35K-$50K for solid frame-off rebuilds with new motors, great paint jobs, custom wheels and interiors, etc.

Honestly, this is what sometimes makes watching the charity cars so damn fun. That’s an awesome story.
Last year we watched someone win the bid for one, and he handed it back to BJ to do the bidding a whole second time. Really nice to see.

Those stories are the best on top of how fun it is to watch the auction.

I prefer the first days of the auctions - usually cars that I can relate to and could see myself buying (in theory).

My first car was a 1966 Plymouth...I bought it for 800 bucks in 73. Around 7 years ago I was watching Barrett-Jackson when the twin to my car came across the stage and went for $45,000.
