Are there crime stats that show the discrepancies between crime occurring North and South of Florida Blvd.? Genuinely curious to know if these stats exist.

They are... they're called anti-gentrification initiatives, affordable housing and diversity hiring initiatives. It's racist white people's fault for buying property, charging rent and not hiring black people for jobs they're not qualified for at pay levels they don't deserve. Give them more stuff and more money, all of this will go away. You'll see.

Just putting this out there, since so many OT'rs think Chicago is a shite hole.

I was in Chicago for the first time both Saturday and Sunday. The downtown area is a billion times cleaner than Nola. Just like I wouldn't venture out much to Nola East, I won't venture to south Chicago.

ETA: I have a friend that lives in StL and has found spent bullets on her doorstep before (idk if it was from firing in the air and coming down or a nearby shooting and the tip just landed on her doorstep), but apparently that isn't an uncommon sighting.

New Orleans is 41 in the world in murders per cap. Chicago didn’t make the list. St. Louis is 13. Whaaa

But far safer, from a not wanting to freeze to death point of view.

New Orleans has the same problem. Especially now that the Saints are dead to me.

Yeah but...

Population:

Chicago - 2.7m
New Orleans - 391k
Baton Rouge - 221.5k

Considering Chicago has over 10x more folks than Baton Rouge as it's not hard to imagine, that rate is astonishing.

Yeah but New Orleans was always like that - it’s not really a big deal - there was always ghetto - and New Orleanians knew it

The problem with Baton Rouge is that it is ghetto and the Baton Rouge natives won’t admit it - sweep it under the rug with all the serial killers

Plus I wouldn’t consider New Orleans to have ‘small town amenities’ - it’s not as great as Chicago but a lot better than BR

That's not the main problem. Look at San Francisco and Portland. Think demographics.

BR has had an unusually high number of serial killers over the past 15-20 years but that's not what's moving this stat.
