I have to pick up kids from camp and wanted to be close

Westin downtown isn’t bad if you have to be downtown and don’t want to leave the hotel. They have valet and a restaurant in the hotel. You’re still in downtown Jackson though so avoid the windows.
The District at Eastover has a pretty cool walking square with decent food options. I’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it as much as you can enjoy Jackson

Sounds like AC in Ridgeland is my best bet?

someone else said it but the sheraton at the refuge is good in flowood by the airport. Also anything around township area of ridgeland, or the hilton garden in madison. Ridgeland and Madison will be very close to the interstate if you are just staying the night and heading out in the morning.

The only place in downtown Jackson I would dream of staying would be The Weston, and demand the highest floor possible. Sleep on the couch or floor next to the bed as well. You don't want your head to be where a shooter would expect it to be.

I always stay in Ridgeland.

Stay in Madison and drive in for what you need.

My middle son lives in Clinton. And when w visit we normally stay at one of the hotels out on I-20 when we stay overnight. No complaints with the Hilton Garden, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hampton. We have stayed in all over the years.

Go to flowood. It’s the white flight area of Jackson.
There is a white area of Jackson?
Stay at any OYO, be sure to barricade your door and take turns on guard duty.

Make the extra 10 minute drive to Ridgeland and stay at the AC hotel behind the Renaissance mall area.

Brandon, Pearl, Flowood, Ridgeland, Madison. All solid options here. In fact these are some of the nicest areas in the entire state of MS. Thanks a lot white flight

Ironically you would provably be better off and safer by asking the police if you could stay in a cell.

Sheraton at Refuge or AC in Ridgeland are the only real answers I think
