Studied for the Bar in Jackson circa 2004. Found a motel near the bar prep class that was surprisingly cheap. Like $25/night kind of cheap. I didn’t give a shite. I was driving in Friday/Saturday AM and leaving Sunday PM. Just needed a place to sleep every weekend for a couple of months. Anyway, I finally figured out why it was so cheap: They had a double homicide there like a month before I arrived. Also figured out they actually put me in the murder room one weekend.

Sheraton Refuge hotel in Flowood. It’s near the airport

Has a restaurant, pool, golf course. Like a mini resort. It’s not near the rough part of Jackson

You gotta stay at the Imperial Suites when in Jackson.

There's probably a total of 4 hotels that are safe in Jxn. Best to stay in Madison, Ridgeland, Flowood, Pearl or Brandon, depending on where the destination is. Any name brand hotel in these cities is fine. Madison/Ridgeland and Flowood will have the most dining/shopping options.

I am in Jackson 4 times a week, from Clinton where we live. Stay in Clinton at the Springridge road exit. Like someone else said it will be safe. However, if it was me, I would stay in Fondren, just where I said, across the street from Walker's, which is where I would eat. JUst do and thank me later.

Find Coater and ask him if you don't believe me.

Vicksburg. It isn't that far away and a whole lot safer.

someone else said it but the sheraton at the refuge is good in flowood by the airport. Also anything around township area of ridgeland, or the hilton garden in madison. Ridgeland and Madison will be very close to the interstate if you are just staying the night and heading out in the morning.

This is correct, I have stayed at all of these and all are very good. I think there is an embassy suites in Ridgeland that is nice as well.

I live in the area, so let me know if you want restaurant recommendations as well.

Residence Inn at The District at Eastover - not super nice but fairly safe.

The Westin downtown

Fairvew Inn

That's 3 widely different hotels. I'd start with these.

Are you nuts? V'burg is a hour away and has much more crime than any place in Rankin or Madison Counties. Madison, Ridgeland, Flowood, Pearl and Brandon are much safer.

Winner, winner. No need to stay the night in Jackson or Ridgeland.

It’s right off the interstate and not in the best area, but the Hilton on County Line Road in Jackson isn’t bad and the staff goes above and beyond being helpful. If you’re looking to the burbs, I recommend the Home2Suites and SpringHill suites in Ridgeland with a lot of restaurants nearby.
