The Escort Max360 is now in the $500 range. I do an extended road trip every summer, 8-10K miles. No tickets & I have lost count of the number of saves.

If you can stretch the budget, the new Redline is well worth the additional $250. Improved range, filtering & its stealth.

You get what you pay for. My brother was driving on I-20 between Tyler and Dallas, using Waze, and was driving at 88 mph when he got zapped by a state trooper that had just entered the highway from an elevated entrance ramp. Not sure even a radar detection system would have helped.

Point is, yes, Waze is great, but there are always points where LE can enter the highway before another fellow Wazer on the other side of the highway spots them and reports the position.

It doesn't take much to get going that fast
It doesn't, but there's zero chance he needed to go that fast to pass a dude doing 35, so he 100% knew what he was doing.

My old man had one of those circa 1993. Damn thing went off any time you went past a store with electric doors.

I absolutely knew what I was doing but I was trying to get around him as quickly as possible. I wasn’t looking at my speed as I was passing. I was just trying to make the pass as quickly as possible. It happens.

I don’t purposely go over the speed limit but got a ticket in French Settlement for 73 in a 45(I was passing someone going way under speed limit)and it’s definitely time.

How about you spend that money on cruise control instead. If you only got a ticket for speeding you got lucky.

You're laughing; there has been more than one occasion where I pull over, get in the back seat, and tell her she can drive this muthrfukr. She gets the red-arse when she realizes I'm serious and she has to drive the rest of the way while I just play on my phone.

Didn't see it mentioned yet but my Radenso is a beast. I pick up the heat from miles away. Almost 100% at blocking blind spot systems which is a huge problem with radar detectors. The only thing I miss about the V1 was the directional arrows but the Radenso is better overall.

You need cars in front of you, way in front, to get cops to use their radar or laser detector on them so you know it's coming.

Waze does this for free.

Not as reliable when speedy is out there removing those traps on his phone.
