College "donations" that are not real donations (and no longer even tax deductible) are even bigger rip offs.

Biggest rip off is probably, Whole Life Insurance. Should be illegal.
you need to be flush with income and already secure financially for whole life to make sense. It’s not really about the insurance as much as a tool to transfer wealth and to finance investments and businesses.

It’s a ripoff when it’s sold to people who cannot afford it or shouldn’t commit to it.

Not sure if I would say rip-offs because people are willing to pay the prices, but furniture, especially mattresses have huge markups.

Alcohol at restaurants.

Certain apps.

including the coffin

When my dad retired from building houses, he decided to go work in a funeral home. After a few months he decided to make his own coffin. It's all white oak with solid brass hardware and silk linings. It's beautiful and morbid at the same time.

He paid about $800 +/-. If he were to buy this same coffin at the funeral home, it would be around 15 to 20 grand. (so I've been told)

I can understand not wanting to overpay for them, but the idea of not having bedside tables borders on nonsensical for me.

Anything advertised on TV as a TV order only. That shite isn't sold in stores for a reason.

Depends on the game. Most dinky iPhone apps, sure. Some games have cash value items and an economy. People sell accounts, items etc.

I can only speak from the experience of paying for the funerals for my parents at two different funeral homes. Both offered a Oak casket for around $900.00, there most expensive casket was stainless steel and cost around $28,000.00. The caskets I bought were metal with a bronze finish they were about the same at both funeral homes around $4500.00. May parents each had a funeral policy that paid $10,000, I had to spend it or lose it, so that's why I got the more expensive caskets.
