So can I buy that sweet 04 camry in the background now?
The Camry is probably faster.

Frick no
That one has the 2.2 ltr 4 cyl in it. Still gets 29 MPG on the highway which was probably good for 1997.
I was only 4 though so I can't remember

Living in the south I’ve never put a car in the garage, ever. That’s for the motorcycles and boats. Tree pollen and dust wash off, only had hail get me a couple times

I'm in the Midwest so it's nice to have a warm car on a cold morning.
Luckily, I'm not a motorcycle or boat person

Probably 175 hp. The 302 isn't that much more, but the Torino is heavy AF.

Clean ride. Congrats. 302s are great engines. You could go broke modifying them.

The Toyota will be around 130 HP at 5200 RPMs, the 302 will be low 200's.
Weight difference isn't as drastic as you'd think:
Camry: 2,976 to 3,236 lbs
Torino: 3,141–3,663 lbs
The Torino accelerates faster than my 5.3 Silverado, the truck obviously has more top end though. I wouldn't want to drive this car at anything about 80 MPH though, it's "sweet spot" is about 60 MPH.

I just wanted something to cruise backroads on weekends in so it's perfect for that.

Me ane 3 buddies totaled one of those out early one morning on I20 between Shreveport and Waskom, TX when we all had been up all night and we woke up in the middle of the interstate median. Flipped over twice and totaled it out. Loved that car. We all walked away from it. Good times! 1973
