I’ve got 4 18’s JBL in the back of my 4 Runner. Punch 300 amp on each woofer. Alpine detachable CD player that I just purchased on Crutchfield.

I remember that you were considered wealthy if you had a RF 300 back in the day.

I had two Kicker CompVR 10's with a RF Punch 500, in a regular cab S-10.. Blaupunkt receiver too. I still have the "wing" covers for the amp, mounted it under the seat so the covers had to be removed to fit. Think I could sell them now for almost what the whole amp cost in 1997.

Put a sub in my f-150 to replace the factory sony one. It sucked because I had to bypass the original one and add a module to spoof the head unit from Ford factory design sub drop to protect to subwoofer. Kind of a pain in the arse

Here is TD Music Board LINK to the system that Corey installed for me about a year ago (scroll down —9th post on page).

He also installed a similar system (Audiotec Fischer amps, but Audio Frog speakers and subs instead of Helix) in my other one.

Prestige Audio also has a nice woodworking shop on site for building custom sub enclosures, and 3D printers to fabricate small things (like mounts for control knobs, harnesses, etc.).

…and probably half the boats in the Madisonville wooden boat parade have audio systems done by them.

Corey is a Mandeville baw, BTW.

Does it not have the Bose system, those have a sub built in.

I have that system in my 2020 Silverado. The sub does OK when Im using Tidal but other wise, it is underwhelming. The bose system seems to really really need the high end files

No just stupid! Used market was ridiculous when I was shopping around.

The petty tards on this board won’t get it but it’s cheaper to just buy your kid a new truck, not have to spend any more for 35,000 miles on insane maintenance costs, and have good resale value vs. “saving” money on a used shitbox with 70,000 miles and spending $7,000 cash on a new transmission and A/C system within 10 months

Look on Crutchfield. They have a good search engine. And they will sell you a kit to interface with your vehicle.

I just replace mine in my 14 year vette and it was a great upgrade. Less than $700 total and was only 2-3 hours total.

I got a Kenwood DMX809s and it has wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.

Seems to be making a comeback. A bunch of my son’s friends are always over wiring up some cheapskate arse amps and speakers… which is awesome!

That’s the same conclusion that I came to. Looked around for a long time and a used truck with about 70k miles was marginally less factoring in possible future repairs, new tires, and never knowing how the truck was previously used. He is a good kid, straight A student. I always told him that if he did the right things growing up I would reward him. He hasn’t disappointed me one bit!
