Blacks make up 13% of the general population, but are probably at least 25% of the broadcast TV audience, if not more. They are less likely to have cable or Netflix. So blacks -- and specifically, black women -- are an enormously important segment of the broadcast market.
Broadcast TV is undergoing changes the way radio did in the fifties. People moved to TV for dramatic entertainment, so radio reinvented itself with music, disc jockeys, top 40, etc.
The TV networks are moving toward quotas b/c that's what their audience wants. The perfect storm for the network is that they can do this under the guise of SJW Wokeism, when it's more a straight business decision.

Two things about this that are pretty much universally true of all CRT/woke-motivated activities and can be brought up to anyone who promotes this stuff -
- There is no actual demand for this. The public does not want this. This will not generate revenue. This will likely lose money and flop, simultaneously failing to entertain the public. At absolute best it's a form of corporate/social blackmail. In reality it's institutionalized mental illness and irrationality.
- This helps no one. No one benefits from this other than a handful of people who can't get a TV show on merit who will now get a fleeting opportunity they likely didn't earn. Ultimately it'll harm them too. This will harm our culture (crappier art/entertainment), it will promote the finding of imaginary problems (self loathing by whites and catastrophizing by non-whites), and the public will hate it.

The only reasons these things are happening are..
1) Entertainment industry is run by social progressives.
2) They are being virtually blackmailed by whining progressives and black people to take action or face the wrath of the mob.

Considering the FACT that blacks make up only 12 percent of the American population, it seems obvious that this is not to have a fair representation of a minority group in news coverage by having 50 percent of them black.
Fighting racism with more racism and retribution only builds more resentment and retribution in society. I’d suggest forgiveness instead, but as those values represent Christianity, and we know that is out of step with our health and happy society we find ourselves in today, we know that is not under consideration.
