I’d imagine we’ll have a household robot pretty soon. I could definitely see getting one to do my laundry, fold my clothes, clean and put away my dishes, sweep the floor, etc. That said, just think how this could help the elderly stay in their own homes longer.

But can the robots make fried rice or orange chicken?

I just read a fictional book titled “The Tin Men” from Nelson Demille and his son Alex Demille.
It touched on this fictional subject that is very quickly becoming nonfiction.

A programmed routine. Saw videos of these doing similar routines months ago.
Yes it's very unsettling how nimble bipedal robots have become so quickly.
How soon will they attempt to put AI into these things? That's when the Terminator timeline begins. Can't be more than 5-10 years away id imagine.

Impressive feat of mechanical engineering
Pre-programmed routine or not the amount of effort to get that type of movement is impressive.
My only thing is the strange obsessions of humanoid type robots make no sense. We learned this lesson long ago, that special purpose robots that uni task are what we need. And we see that all over the world.
These humanoid robot demos are basically cool, but not all that useful for real world tasks. Wasted movement, energy, and cost.

Amazing how gullible you morons are.
