I lived in El Presidente across the street from El Cid for awhile. This would have been like 1999.

We just missed each other, dammit.
777, I like seeing people under the age of 70 'round here. Lots of kids on the water yesterday.

Of course you are. I don't think you are a Canadian a-hole, which makes you alright by me.

I think we talked about both hanging out at the Vinyard quite a bit too. I'm a bit older than you if I remember correctly though. The Vineyard, Spankys on Sherwood, Spankys in Pville on Sundays, the Station and Triple A were my regular spots

baked beans and toast
ramen noodles
hot dogs
cans of olives
torino's pizza
gas station burritos
that was my diet....IF i made some money on tips, i would order calzones on Wednesday from Rotolos for 3.99 or splurge and order a double Italian sausage pizza.
After college was worse...I was living alone in Thibodaux behind a church while I got my teacher certification. (I don't even teach anymore) .I didn't make rent several times and eventually got evicted. I would basically live off of $8,000 for six months. I would routinely roll change and use it to buy groceries and gasoline. The good people of the Bayou fed me every chance they could and I am forever grateful.
The struggle was real.

I used to play music and met a lot of nice women at the Vineyard. That’s the PC version

This thread is great but very depressing
I never went without. Actually, I had it pretty good in college compared to you baws
But I always lived within my means

You can probably put Port Royal in this category as well

Seriously, good for you. I don't begrudge anyone who has. I think it can be character building to go without but a recognition of how well you have it can too. We had guys who had more and less than I.... Like life.
