My crawl space is totally exposed.
I’ve wrapped about two feet of pipe and covered the faucets. Is that enough?
Drip your faucets, hot and cold, and you should be good. If you can set the timer on your dishwasher to start at 3am that helps too. I'm in Dallas and have 2 pier n beam places and it gets into the teens a couple times a year and there are no issues. When we got to -3 my rental duplex pipes froze but I'm not sure those pipes are wrapped as there isn't enough space to crawl under there. Miraculously , I had no pipe bursts.

That's an impressive Friday forecast for BR! Sustained Wind out of the NNW at 21mph ; would mean having Wind Gust near 30 mph! If High temp stays in the upper 30's that will be brutal!

I’m waxing my skis right now but trying to decide if I should ski Money Hill or Monkey Hill. Money hill has some sick vertical.

We've definitely had below average December for some years now. This was starting to be. December has been warm. But maybe this will change at least December.

29 here in Calcasieu this morning. Had a weird fog this morning. Very wispy and looked to go from ground level to about 30 feet up.

Its 3 here, warmest morning in five days or so.
Can see the sideswipe of the cold in my forecast here (11/-6) on Thursday. Thankfully, most of the cold will spill east of here toward yall.

Or just shut off the main and leave everything open, which is usually the safest bet.
I may just do that.
Last time it froze that bad, I had several pipes burst even running the water. So, I may just end up, shutting off the main and draining the entire system. Of course with everyone running the water or the mass breaking of pipes, it is not likely you will have pressure anyway.

Me and you both. I don't understand why so many on here "want me sum cold weather cause sweat runs down muh arse crack hurr durr". Give me a 75 degree and sunny Christmas any day of the week over frozen pipes, shite tearing up from cold weather, can't go outside because the wind chill is 3, etc. But Christmas is posed to be cold hurr durr! Move to damn Michigan then.

In all seriousness re: Pex, I delivered a load of hay to a stable one morning when temps were in the teens. I parked beside an open-air station they had for washing horses, all plumbed with Pex. The lines looked like pythons that had swallowed other pythons. Swollen up huge but not cracked. That sold me. Except drain pipe, I haven’t bought PVC since.

Just a disclaimer. Went to Home Depot to get two more faucet covers and they had already put out their pipe insulation. If you need to prepare go do it today. There will be nothing left once people figure this out.

Bought mine yesterday - they were out of the "cap" covers, but they had this Thinsulate "sock" for $8 or so. Worth a shot.
Agree on folks getting on it now. Don't want to be wrapping pipes with bath towels and pool noodles

Many people don’t pay attention to the weather days or weeks in advance like we do. He’s saying once people finally know what’s coming, it’ll be a mad rush for insulation and faucet covers.

Yes sledge. This. People are shockingly oblivious to what’s going on in the world.

Locals weren’t too excited about the idea of him shitting in the ditches in front of their house and all through St.Francisville. Arrangements were made to assist him on a little further up the road to Fayette, Ms
