Yeah, you may wind up getting the worst of all this.
That image is almost like art.

Kids will enjoy it. Me, not so much. If we get crazy stuff I’ll go around and take pics and put the drone up.

The highest pressure ever recorded in the lower 48 states occurred in December 1983 in Miles City, Montana, where it reached 1,064 mb, or 31.42 inHg, during a severe cold wave.

Buddy of mine told me to get up there and make sure the drains on those sinks drained. Sure enough, one was stopped up somewhere in the drain. I guess old building stuff or whatever gets in em.
Mine is in the attic (whole other set of issues with that

My daughter lives in Billings. Projected low this week is -34. Wonder what that pressure will be?

Koozies work great. Put two of them over you faucets
learned that during the freeze in Houston. All the wedding koozies i have finally came in handy
After we lost power for 8 hours, I just cut the water at the mainline so i didn't have to worry about it.
Going to do the same thing again before I head out of town.

Wondering the same for my MIL she is coming to laffy from nola on 90. I think there is a chance of some ice on some of the elevated areas.

That's a damn snowicane over the Great Lakes region.

I see no ability for precip to form. Friday through Christmas should result in the bluest of all possible skies for the entire South Louisiana area. We probably won't even see much frost, if any.
Even if it rains ahead of the front, the 30 mph sustained winds and dry air will take care of that.

There will be an unimpeded path from the Canadian Yukon and Northwest Territories province into the Deep South. Current temps in far eastern AK is in the mid -40s while other interior Canadian temps are in the -30s. As the L/W trough axis digs into the Lower MS Valley and a 1050mb+ high digs south out of Canada a very strong cold front will rapidly work south passing through the Lower MS Valley late Thursday.
This front may already be through most of the area before midnight and behind it very strong winds will usher in probably some of the strongest CAA we have seen in some time with temps likely falling some 20 to 30 degrees in 3 to 4 hours and continuing to drop through the morning.
This will be damn impressive. Talk about some howling wind...

I plan to do the same. Cut off at the main and drain lines inside and outside before leaving.

The meteorologist here (Louisville, KY) are refusing to give potential snow estimates for Friday. Saying windchills will average between -10 and -20 though.
It at least sounds like it won’t change over to snow here until late Thursday so I can at least get a couple in-person days this week.
