The high on Thursday is -18 with a low of -37. I’m just going to pretend that day doesn’t exist and stay inside the whole time.

The NAM is in range of Thursday now. It shows the front start to dive into the SE. Shreveport will drop ~26° in three hours or less. From 49° at 3pm to 23° at 6pm.
Notice the 20-25mph winds with the front. You'll want to have outside stuff done by the time the front starts to push through.

Ehat day is that model for? Will it be just super cold or will there be precipitation? Very concerned about ice on roadways.

Thursday at 3pm and 6pm.
Ice shouldn't be much of a concern with this front. It will be relatively dry and quick moving.

The meteorologist here (Louisville, KY) are refusing to give potential snow estimates for Friday. Saying windchills will average between -10 and -20 though.

What about the entirety of Arkansas? We have to drive from Fayetteville down.

I so badly want to be outside when it pushes through. I love being outdoors when the wind shifts. Nothing like it.

It'll be pretty much the same story up and down the front. Temps will be similar pre-front in AR and LA. There could be a better chance of precip in AR, but right now ice accumulation isn't much at all. Get out of Arkansas before 6pm and you'll be good, it will almost certainly be all rain with temps in the 40s up until that time.

That is my issue. We can't leave until noonish on Friday. Stupid end of the year work projects.

I would like to go ahead and reserve SeaTow now for when my boat gets stuck on the mudflats on Saturday morning.

No ice/snow to worry about driving from DFW to Natchez Friday and returning Monday?

Oh, that's better than being in the middle of it. Y'all should have a good idea then where any spots of concern are. Right now, I don't think there will be a big concern for any widespread ice issues in AR or LA. There could be the stray slick spot, but not like some of the freezing rain events we've seen in the past.
This is the current NAM freezing rain accumulation through the time that the front is passing through.
