I have the well pipes wrapped as best as I can do (floor underlayment works really well for long runs with lots of turns), have blankets over that and a light on in the well house. Hopefully that’s good enough
living room is full of firewood and potted plants LOL

Not yet. Soon. It is currently 57° in BR.
Well, the wind has switched to out of the north and temperatures starting to fall. Close enough for me to start bouncing outside to feel the changes.

I’m hoping the wind doesn’t blow away the coverings I put on my citrus trees

I sure hope that evaporative drying Duke (or one of you mentioned) is in play. Cause I got a good smattering of rain. I don’t need to be iced In tomorrow.

Just so we all know that things could be worse:
@NWSBuffalo
That's not a blizzard. That's a Snowcane.
shite, and it got worse!

Perspective: A Blizzard Warning is for 35+ mph winds + 1/4 mi visibilities from snow (or blowing snow), for 3+ hrs. At #BUF, we expect blizzard conditions for ~30 hrs, with peak winds ~70 mph. Don't focus on snow totals. Power outages + stranded cold travelers are higher impacts.

Odds are high that winds will shred flakes to something akin to snow "dust" Fri->Fri night. This typically causes low visibilities during blizzards. This *could* lower snow totals, although it will be nearly impossible to measure. Confidence with with snow amounts increases Sat.

Shouldn’t be an issue. The rain will be outa here around 7, then the wind cranks up around 9. The temperature drops below freezing after midnight.

I still don't expect anything that makes an impact but I feel like Memphis area and then east over to north AL is gonna end up with more
Moisture than expected

Can't wait for a wedding I have to go to in Buffalo mid January. Should be a fun time given how shitty it's been already with the 5' of lake effect snow and now this blizzard
Meanwhile a high of 81*F here tomorrow in FL before the front hits here

The majority of it is very light. It is drizzling at the house now.
There's a chance to see a true lake effect snow event off of Wheeler Lake tonight/early morning. Areas SE of Wheeler could see an inch or so if the wind stays out of the NW long enough.

It has happened before, at least enough to have some research done on it. It takes temps dropping fast enough and perfect wind direction to really see a marked difference from it. Winds will be coming across the lake at 20+ out of the NW. With the warmer water helping, it is possible.
