I was taken aback by the number of 25-35 yr old married fathers I'd see playing video games at 630pm on a week night while the wife was clearly doing housework, chasing babies, ordering supper, etc

I would argue it is the most alpha thing to do. Men who care about being Alpha wouldn't do it, but a real Alpha will not sit back and let the woman do all the work.

I used to play NCAA football on Friday night after the family went to bed till 330 in the morning. That dang Ed Obannon killed that. I had to quit cold turkey.

you regularly "get outside" or meet up with friends at 9 PM on a Tuesday night?

Sometime I will have something sports related wrapping up at that hour. Most weekday nights I'm doing what needs to be done as a father to get my kids ready for the next day.

Seriously guys. If you have several hours a night to play video games, your life isn't what it could or should be. Invest that into your career or take up a hobby or sport that gets you interacting with friends or family away from the tv and sofa. I've seen people do real business around the tennis court or golf course. I've never seen anyone make contacts playing madden football.

I am very transparent and upfront about future married life so they can decide early if we're a match.

Would think beards are causing a lot of hipster marriages to fail. That, and guys spending so much money on fancy underwear!

Grown men playing video games is a sure fire sign that they are cucks.

I don't see an issue playing after the kids and the wife go to bed. Women who think men should come to bed with them at the same time every night of the week without having any alone time are the problem. Not the men trying to get away from everything for a few hours.

How is this getting upvoted?

Do you not have better things to do with your life at this point than stay up playing video games? Put down the controller and better yourself and family.

I grew up playing all those games... but once you get married you realize what's important in life.

Like everything else in life, you gotta have balance. Give the wife her equal stick time and youll be ok to act like youre 12 again.

If it’s an everyday thing I’d agree but once a week is acceptable

No different than going to "the camp" during hunting season for weeks at a time.

This is really sad man. It's a fricking innocent hobby.

Yea I dont get it.

Oh Ive seen people do real business around the tennis court and golf course instead of your stupid Madden. Wtf does that even mean? I know what he would say but that might apply to 1% of the population. Newsflash, not everyone needs business deals made.

I would argue that more deals get made in a bar over drinks than any other casual setting. By his logic, we should be hanging out after work getting drinks every day.
