I went to a K-12 school, so yeah, I know it.

Yes, it is the same as LSU’s, but it’s in a different key with different words.

Half of it and then like the last line of the song because everyone does this thing where we all lean back. This was the case for 90% of the school too. Our alma mater song is a really beautiful song though and one of the best I’ve ever heard.
Never knew ULM’s alma mater but I know LSU’s by heart and I went to ULM. I think the majority of ULM students have no clue what the alma mater is either. That’s one problem with ULM is the culture there. Students have no pride for their school and constantly shite on it, which it is a shitty school, but still you need to have a little pride in where you attend. The culture needs to change in Monroe

Went to a small public school that was very close knit. We sang it after every football game and it’s now forever etched in my mind.
The words end with “And we’ll lose to Parkview Baptist.”

What kind of loser knows their high school alma mater? That sounds like a very New Orleans thing to do.
Afar down these halls
We glimpse the golden future
The sweet years of youth
Are quickly passing by
Afar down we wander
Afar down we stray

Absolutely. Still sing it several times a year at school events. Used to sing it to my kids in their car seats as we rolled past Carrollton and Banks.

yes...but only because I was in the band. Side note: I went to brother martin and most student legit thought "Final Countdown" was our fight song

“In unity our spirit grows, we walk as one today”
That’s the first line. I can hum the rest but don’t have a fricking clue what the words are

You ain't lying...got my masters and taught there....there is 0 student support. I was there when they upset Arkansas and no one gave a shite. I think the biggest problem is who goes there..... in my experience it was 80% good ole boys from Ouachita parish just killing time before they eventually worked for their old mans business. Not really a student population you can build a proud culture around

I never knew my hs had a alma mater. Do you remember all of the disney tunes?
Posted on 2/11/21 at 10:45 am to Pedro
Yep....both verses....fight song too.
One of the best things Les Miles did while he was at LSU was to bring back singing the alma mater after games. LSU was one of only a few SEC schools that didn’t do it.

I don’t recall one word of this at all...
There is a school in our dear South that's beautiful to see
Let's sing a song to tell our love for dear old LSD.
For dear old LSD, for dear old LSD
We'll sing a song of gladness now, and love and loyalty.
When every Fall we leave our home, to LSD we go
It's like a loving mother, that is why we love it so.
For dear old LSD, for dear old LSD
We'll sing a song of gladness now, and love and loyalty.
Oh, with a yell of "Hold that line!" we'll cheer our Eagles true
For whether we're at work or play, we do our best for you.
For dear old LSD, for dear old LSD
We'll sing a song of gladness now, and love and loyalty.

I find myself singing mine all the time since the china virus shut down. I had forgotten how good it sounded. It was written by a local lady, which makes it that much more special.
