We had an Andy’s fried chicken in New Iberia when I was a kid. That was the best fast food fried chicken. It was the closest thing to my moms fried chicken.

I remember when Popeyes actually served edible food.

At one time (90’s), it was even my favorite fast food place to go.

I think I last got food at one in 2018.

Yep, they changed something big time along the way. Their food used to be so damn good and now it doesn’t taste like anything and has this bizarre mealy texture

Fast food is gross, has been and always will be. Spend $5 more and go eat real food at an actual restaurant
I suppose you're not seeing over the "fast" adjective. That "fast" serves a purpose for many people.

I saw the thread about Wendys and a Single being $1. I remember when they cost 4 or 5 times that, before inflation happened , but do you remember a time when some fast food places actually were "good" and not just because you were 5 years old?

When I was a kid in the late 70s and early 80s we’d go to Gadsden every Saturday. One of the main places we’d go for lunch was Wendy’s. This was old school Wendy’s when the tables still had news paper ads from the late 1800s printed on them. Their cheeseburgers were the best back then, at least to me. The bun was always super soft & fresh like it had been baked that day, the burger patties were delicious, jucy, and cooked to perfection. Those were the days.

ETA: what some people on here find objectionable I’ll never understand.

Taco Tico still tastes good!
I’ve gotten the sickest I’ve ever been from something I ate at taco tico in Texarkana. Swore I’d never eat there again. I’m sure it was just a one off thing I just can’t clear that hurdle.

When a fast food place first opens, food, service and quality are at their best. After that, everything goes downhill for most companies.

A whopper from a non-cultural based restaurant is usually pretty good when the vegetables are fresh. That being said haven’t eaten there in years because most BK restaurants have turned to absolute garbage.

We used to go to Long John Silvers as a treat when I was a kid.

I wouldn’t eat there on a bet now.

I'm old enough to remember when Taco Bell had amazing food. Yum Foods bought them, KFC, and Pizza Hut in the early 90s and fricked up all three of them. But they really ruined Taco Bell.

I was an area supervisor for Wendy's when I was 19. At that time, the meat what is locally sourced and we would Patty the meat at the store. All of the produce came in fresh each morning then was prepped at the store.
