Snipe and Tackysweater should carpool off a cliff together and free up the highway for people who actually know how to drive.

If you are in the left lane and not passing anyone, yes. You aren't law enforcement. It isn't your job to enforce speed limits. Your only requirement in this scenario is to move over.

The Autobahn has no speed limits on large sections of it, this comparison is moronic.

Great, just give the tailgaters more of a reason to think they aren’t wrong. I bet 90% of accidents are due to people following too close. Anyone with any sense understands this, but for some reason we continue to normalize following within a couple car lengths on the interstate.

It’s illegal in Texas but people still camp out in the left lane. There aren’t enough cops to enforce it regularly and people just ignore the signs. Major contributing factor to accidents so I really wish they would crack down on it here.

Georgia has such a law and I have seen one guy pulled over for camping out in the left lane.

Honestly, the last damn thing I want are a bunch of people pulled over on the interstate so all the easily distracted mouth breathers can see the flashing lights and immediately start hitting their brakes and rubber necking, gumming up the whole works even worse than the one a-hole in the left lane. People are like a bunch of damn crows or simple minded children......quickly distracted by shiny objects and bright lights. They immediately forget where they are and everything goes to shite.

It's literally not.

It's called the passing lane.

I'm all for anything to help with left lane idiots, but this kind of makes me laugh. Essnetially he wants to make it legal to illegally speed in the passing lane.

I'm here for it though, its just funny when you think about it.

No, it's inattentive drivers like you. If you paid any fricking attention you'd see how many people swing out into the left lane without checking their mirrors at all, people scrolling IG in rush hour traffic, people in a lane that's merging not "realize" it until their lane disappears and they're next to another car, etc.

Go join Snipe in that carpool.

The irony of this statement. Wow.

You realize, that by not leaving the passing lane, you are doing this exact thing, right? Right?

Are you retarded or do you actually not understand 70 is slower than 90?

They are 2 different laws. Speeding is against the law and remaining in the left lane while not passing is against the law no matter your speed.

Its really not that hard to understand.

Being honest. I stopped reading right here. Nope. Zero faith that they knows why they’re doing. Less than zero faith in the people who “elected” them

The argument is not about speeding or anyone’s “right” to speed or any of that other nonsense. It’s about the laws (in Louisiana) saying you must remain in the right lane unless to pass, and it is illegal to pass someone on the right, AND it is also illegal to form a “rolling roadblock.” So as much as you might not like people that speed, you are also in violation of the law by trying to police the road yourself unless you are sworn to do so.

Refer to LA RS 32:71, 32:73, and 32:73.1.

Its also a crime to break down on the autobahn.

Not a crime to break down, it is a crime to run out of gas or if your tires were worn out to the point where they blow and cause an accident or something. Basically if it is negligence to your vehicle and would not pass a tüv inspection. I had the ECU go out on me while on the autobahn and it wasn't a crime, that is something that went out while driving and you can't really control. Yeah they don't frick around and hence why I stated they need to heavily fine individuals in the States that do that. They also need to consider raising the speed limit. Modern vehicles there is no reason they can't raise it to 90mph.

That is a stupid rebuttal. If someone is going faster than you then keep to the right. Left lane is for passing. Works well in other parts of the world.

I'm not. I'm also not actively contributing to hazardous driving conditions by making sanctimonious protests on public highways.
