the plain things are the main things and the main things are the plain things: i opt for the clarity of: I
in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
you've quoted 1 Corinthians for years and i respect your beliefs--i just do not share them. But i love you as He commanded.

This thread is an example of why we can't have nice things.
It's also a microcosm of history. Christians arguing about what true Christianity is, who the true Christians are. Christians have committed mass murder against each other for centuries.
It's an amazing find. Why can't we all enjoy that?

I think it is an amazing find. and you'll see nothing from me about who is a true christian and who is not.

800 years before Jesus was even born? Before Jesus, there was no such thing as Christianity.

Two centuries later constitutes “the very beginning”? The lady doth protest too much, methinks

So do the Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in the same God and are just fighting about whom his son is?
And where did the Buddha come from?
And where did the Buddha come from?

The 581-square-foot mosaic decorated the world's first prayer hall in 230 AD, confirming Christians believed Jesus was the son of God from the very beginning.
We don’t need any more confirmation of that. It’s a historical fact.

Never read 'The Trinity' in the Bible anywhere.

It’s kind of hard to challenge the Catholic Church’s interpretation of the Bible when the early Catholic Church wrote the Bible in the first place.
They compiled the Bible by writing the New Testament and combining it with the Jewish Old Testament. The early Catholic Church determined what books were Scripture and were to be included in the New Testament and which books were not Scripture and were not to be included the New Testament.
The Bible didn’t just come down from the sky on a cloud wrapped in lace. It had to be written and compiled by somebody. The early Catholic Church did that, and so it’s ironic when Protestant Christians try to “use the Bible against the Catholic Church” when the Bible is a Catholic book in the first place.
