Or you can quit whining and just use PayPal and get around the Amex ban.
Unless it's changed in recent years, PayPal is owned by ebay.

We had a Chase Visa compromised recently. It was super easy to have the charges removed. I think I spent less than 5 minutes on the phone with them.

I think most of them are fine for fraud.

Same here except it wasn't Chase. They flagged it immediately and texted me. I didn't attempt the purchase.

Hopefully the scumbag with the counterfeit card shoots whoever manufactured it.

PayPal

Yeah, that's what I want to do, negate every single benefit as a purchaser using my own CC.
PayPal sucks.

They flagged mine and texted me too, but I saw a few others when I checked the recent transactions. It was about 1k in total. They paid some bills with it.

I just wonder how they get the information. Gas station skimmers? A fast food worker taking pics of it or something?

I have an Amex card at work but I’ve never understood the draw of having a card that isn’t accepted everywhere like Visa or MasterCard. Are the rewards that good?

The fees are comparable

AMEX processing fees are a good 30% higher than Visa, MC, and Discover on average.

All of them are too high - the difference in processing fees between debit and credit transactions is absurd. But AMEX definitely stands out above the others when it comes to fees.

Company I used to work for had us carry Amex and after having too many complaints about how limited they were business's accepting them they had us turn them back in.

The problem is that I don't think anyone does anything about it. I bet they never investigate it much, if at all.

When I was 27 I was dating a 21 year old

And she said the same thing

When did ebay become a thing for old people?

It is one of the best places to buy stuff

Had my wallet stolen in Paris years ago. Tried calling my Chase Visa people for an hour or more as I had used the Visa to pay for quite a bit of the trip. Got a run around. Never any help. Seemed nobody could make a decision. I was in a panic.

Called AMX and 45 minutes later I had 500 Euro’s delivered to a local store that dealt in money transfers. AMX had a map of Paris, asked where I was in Paris and the store was literally 2 blocks from my hotel.

I have a Visa and a MC for the places that don’t take AMX but 95% of my business is with AMX and always will be. When you need help AMX is there to help you.

AMEX is the best card for consumers. Their fraud protection is easily the best around.
