My son is white and just started UAB Med last month. I saw quite a few white guys (and girls) in his class at the White Coat Ceremony last weekend.

We need to ridicule her for only applying to one med school. If she isn't a resident of Alabama, then she wouldn't stand a good chance at any Alabama med school. Around 160 students each year at UAB are from Alabama. That leaves 26 spots for 4000-5500 applicants for out-of-state residents. That's an acceptance rate of less than 1 percent for out-of-state students. Like user lsusa showed, the numbers are similar for USA medical school. Both state schools, surprise, show preference for residents of Alabama. If she got an interview and a waitlist, she definitely had a chance and just didn't perform that day. It happens. It's why applying to one school is insane. Also, I'm pretty sure you groomed me. It's real rich to call other people groomers given your history.

I've seen recent UAB Med School graduating classes. Easily 60 percent or more white.
Not saying that she didn't get some reverse discrimination action from UAB, but sounds kinda fishy that a school that regularly accepts 100 or more white people (out of class sizes of 180 people total) didn't accept this one white girl for her white privilege.

Interesting that you are posting this now. I saw in Sunday’s paper where 2 grads of a Caribbean medical school were entering a practice here in Baton Rouge. It makes sense now.

This bullshite will lead to either a shortage of doctors because without whites there aren’t enough people to fill the slots, or a bunch of under qualified doctors as they’ll push people into the medical field who don’t belong there

It isn't funny. Back when I voted alongside people like you and I was brainwashed, I personally sat on committees where we would pat ourselves on the back if we screwed over a white kid for a minority for entrance, scholarships, etc.
This was well before this became the frequent norm.
So, laugh all you want. You are getting the desired result anyway.

...Again, not discounting the possibility of UAB doing the reverse discrimination dance with a few applicants just to say they did. But sounds a little bit like a white girl whining about not getting in but blaming trendy identity politics grievances.
