This is undoubtedly due to systemic racism fueled by the orange menace Donald Trump and his cult like supporters. This has nothing to do with a culture that prides themselves on celebrating heroic figures like the honorable St George Floyd, murderers, rapists, absentee fathers etc etc.

This is true for the most part. I was reading posts on social media responding to a WVUE article that another complaint was that local vendors have been cut out by the new management company. Also, crime is playing a huge factor. Surprisingly, someone tried to blame Trump for a shitty economy and that was quickly rejected and rediculed by multiple posters. Another reason people were giving was that some reality show filmed during the festival and it brought in a very undesirable crowd.

I’ve been in Nola for almost 30 years of my adult life and Essence Fest has never interfered with my daily life
