It's a Catholic thing. The Italians and Irish like to party too.

I brought my daughter to her little amiga’s 8-year old birthday party. Most fun and best eating I had all year. They rented a fricking riding bull.

I've been to a Mexican cookout,
I did this as well. After we ate, the women went into the house and we drank around the fire for a while. Everyone ended up sleeping the whole night in lawn chairs around the fire!
When I say “whole night” I mean the sun was coming up when we started stirring again!

That’s sort of disturbing and delicious at the same time

ETA: can I have my kids baptized again? In the Catholic Church. Not talking about one of those heathen born again fire and brimstone new age church baptisms.

The Katy-zuelans here will routinely party until 4AM, with their kids all passed out all over the host's house. For a 2 year old's birthday party.

Any pointers on getting invited to more?
Umm, tell the Mexicans you've given your heart to Hey-Soos and want to join their church?

My parish in Birmingham AL has a huge Hispanic congregation. The Hispanic masses are packed to the rafters. Our priest speaks fluent Spanish.

I’ve been to some top rate First Communion pachangas (b4 Pableaux)
Don’t forget the piñata
(And the penisata for MrsSS, the youngest needs a sister)

I go to a Baptist church with an immigrant family from Mexico. Brilliant guy. Engineer. One of his degrees is Ivy League. He came over and brought his family in the right way. They're all citizens now. His wife got her citizenship last year. They were super happy to take that oath. Threw a celebration. He's trying to get his old parents a visa now.

I haven't been to a Mexican affair but have been to a Philippine wedding. It was 3 hours long. I kept cutting my eyes to my wife and daughter to see who would fake illness first,
