So did I, in Tulane Stadium and in City Park. Both venues were packed. They were already famous by that time. As were most of the bands listed in this thread.

Better than Ezra, REM, and the Producers were hitting the college circuit. This is what got their music out there.

I swear I remember a band named Ezra before better than Ezra but maybe not?

Producers were a 'big' college band but didn't go as far as REM. I think REM and the Producers were from Atlanta.

I saw the Georgia Satellites before they blew up. Granted they never had prolonged success. I saw them several times. One show was The Satellites, Jason and The Scorchers, and Dash at Tips. That was a hell of show.

Ok, now this is awesome. I'm ever hopeful for a reunion tour but don't think it will ever happen. John is just too bitter.

We knew who they were back ~'71 or '72 but they weren't anywhere near as famous as they became a year or two later.

Decyfer Down. They still aren't huge but they had a single hit #3 on the rock charts.

I saw them at a trunk or treat Halloween party at a church 1.5 years before they released their first album. Literally was me, 4 other guys, and the lead singers fiance standing their listening.

Gogol Bordello at Voodoo Fest 2002 or 03'. They performed in a small tent for about 50 people and rocked it.
