Federal Government could pursue the death penalty on this guy

The sentences are even stricter if the arson leads to injury or death, in which case the government can seek up to life in prison or the federal death penalty.
U.S. President Donald Trump issued an executive order on his first day in office in January directing the attorney general to "pursue the death penalty for all crimes of a severity demanding its use."

He lived in CA when this happened and was arrested in FL.

Wait, so it wasn't sPaRkiNG pOWer LineS? Wow, what a shock! That was always such a plausible explanation.
When I got camping, I carry a cut-off power cord and I plug it into an inverter in my truck and just sort of touch the frayed conductors to a log and voila- a roaring fire. That's totally how it works and everyone knows most wildfires are started by SpArkiNG POweR LiNeS.
Assholes.

That is actually how some of the fires have started in the past.

Most of these fires are started by Jewish Space Lasers. This guy is just an operator who works the day shift .

I want to see the criminal complaint and what physical evidence they have linking this guy to the start of the main fire, and not one that may have started during after the main fire.
Look what the alternatives are:
- There was a fire in that same area several days before. The Palisades fire started directly adjacent to or within that previous fire scar. There was minimal to no monitoring of that fire for holdover/hotspots between it being put out and the start of the Pallisades fire.
- There is a boatload of civil litigation tied to this fire. Included in the allegations is that the powerlines above the closest neighborhoods, along the ridgeline, were energized despite the fact that the power company came out early on and said that those lines were not energized. There are allegations that someone went into the service records for those lines, as the fire was still raging, and altered information pertaining to those lines.
- Pretty much every agency and that power company are named in the civil suits. This fire, the actual main Palisades fire, being proven to be criminal arson would go a long way in helping to let a lot of those agencies off the hook.
Until I see what physical evidence they have, I'm going to remain skeptical. There are a whole lot of coincidences that need to be overcome.

It's California and he's a democrat. He'll get 40 years and serve 25-30 if he lives. High security California prisons are slaughterhouses so they may, or may not feel the need to protect him.

He ignited the Jan 1st fire which was thought to have been put out after and then monitored for 36 hours without any new incidents.
Now they are saying buried embers from this started the Pacific Palisades fire a week later.
He deserves charges for Jan 1st fire it appears, but there seems to be some debate on whether or not the buried embers theory started the bigger fire. Also not sure if the city and county (and maybe the state) have any liability for missing issue during the 36 hours of monitoring if this truly ends up being the cause.
