Shreveport

As an outsider who visit Shreveport and south Louisiana regularly. Shreveport has no redeeming qualities. At least spots in the south have something I can point to as a benefit

Not having to hear that Arkansas twang is enough.

This, and you can also say the same thing about folks in places like Napoleonville, Paincourtville, and Pierre Part.

Sure, compared to south La, the majority of north LA is just fine as long as you don’t like good food, booze, music or dancing.

Also, if you work in an industry that requires some level of net worth / disposable income / entrepreneurial spirit….good f’n luck north of I-10.

Besides that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

As someone born and raised in Shreveport…I agree completely. Moved out of Shreveport as soon as I was able to.

North Louisiana sucks for the same reasons most places in SEC country suck. But South Louisiana is different. SLA is filled with the most disgusting, low bred group of caucasians in the United States. Only they could look around at their life and deem it better than anyone else's. They're literally that fricking stupid.

I know several people that grew up in north LA, that moved to south LA to go to school, work and raise a family.

I know zero people who voluntarily chose to move to north LA to settle and raise a family from south LA.

I have been to / through Shreveport 5 times in my life. No vibe, beauty, attractions, uniqueness, differentiating qualities at all.

What did I miss?

You know what's good about that state to the west of us? If you are from El Paso or from Wascom, you're still a Texan.

Not so about this place.

Live in the suburbs of NOLA….OP is probably right but tend to believe that the majority of this state sucks. No doubt in my mind though that anything not New Orleans and BR is a hell of alot better place to be in this state

But I am referring mainly to the people who constantly regurgitate the same old shite about north of I-10 not really being part of Louisiana….and honestly meaning it not just as a passing joke.

It’s culturally different. North Louisiana has more culturally in common with states like Mississippi and Arkansas (basically traditionally southern states), than South Louisiana. South Louisiana is its own thing, because of heritage and religion. It’s kinda like how South Florida is culturally different than the panhandle.

Most of current Louisiana isn't what Louisiana is supposed to be. It's gone downhill big time.
