yep, at first I couldn't figure out if that was sarcasm or a joke but if "true" that's pretty weak

I just think the use of that word has become disingenuous to soldiers'.

Its not a diagnosis you want to be labeled with and you have people running around claiming they had it because the kids were loud.

Year 10, have looked at getting out. Just don't have a clue what to do.

Even more difficult as a single parent with my kids. Being on the same schedule as my kids is great.
Dealing with all the bs and horrible parenting these days, and ridiculous admin crap, is not great.

For those who have left the classroom, what career did you shift to?

Not a former teacher, but my parents are. My mother went into educational tech sales. My father went into real estate and then land development. Turns out being a coach for 25 years builds you a damn good client base that trusts you about as much as they trust their Dad...and a lot of them went into construction.

ETA: Because of the Alabama pension system, my parents couldn't work salaried jobs and still draw their pension, but commission based sales were a convenient loop hole. They both draw around $3.5K a month and that allowed them to take risks because the bills were always going to be paid.

Is it not true that males for the most part left public education decades ago?

Is it not true that it’s mostly women who run public education and that most of them vote Democrat?

I’ll forgive your ignorance on the matter!
I have been threatened numerous times by students and parents over 36 years of teaching. I have been threatened to be fired multiple times for having high standards and trying to discipline students. Threatened to be sued for breaking up fights or how we teach tackling and other job related responsibilities. Worrying about school mass shooting with metal detectors and cameras being installed. Stupid job evaluations and racial sensitivity trainings to add to it. Why not quit? It was my career that I invested 20+ years in and I needed to complete for retirement. So Yes “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder”
