Wait until manufacturers reverse some of the crap they added/modified to meet CAFE standards.

Can you disable any of it? I don't need my truck blinking at me every time somebody passes by in the other lane or helping me steer on turns.

The average lifespan on a car is 13 years and has done nothing but go up over time. The internet become a bitch fest is the only thing that’s changed.

Maybe it's talking about fiber.

Keep the car
Invest the money you’d spend on a car
If you must buy it - pay cash

That’s a horrible take

It's 10 years old and that's 95k city miles
I’ll give you $6k for it if it could make it from Monroe to Bawcomville.

My 2024 came with a paper manual.
You can turn off almost all of he driver assist features, except for the blindspot sensors in the side mirrors.
I like not having a key dangling from the ignition. Key stays in pocket, I push button start the car, use the knob to put it in gear, and immediately disable auto start/stop and release the parking brake in under 2 seconds.
There are also ways to turn off other features, like the dreaded double horn honk if you leave the key in the car while it's running, electronically. I can almost guarantee there's someone on this board that lives near you with an OBDII writer connected to a laptop that can do it, you don't need the dealer. Here is a link to the FORSCAN codes for Ford. The stuff you want is probably in the BCM (Body Control Module) tab, that's all stuff I've changed on multiple vehices.

My truck is 15 years old and I hope she has another 15 left in her

That car is just getting warmed up. I’d definitely keep it for another 100K.

Keep the Lexus for 10 more years and another 100,000 miles.
This. Or more. Our favorite meteorologist keeps posting his 4runner odometer. 425k with no engine or transmission repair.
Toyota's naturally aspirated engines are legendary.
Most anything you buy now, Toyota or otherwise, are going to have turbocharged 4 or 6 cylinder engines. Complete pieces off shite compared to the 6/8 cylinder motors Toyota produced before.
You can thank California and the EPA for it all.

Whatever you do, avoid the BMW.

I’ve owned a lot of vehicles and I currently drive a Tesla Y. I don’t care about the electric, I do think it’s a small plus for me but I own it bc of the full self drive. It’s incredible how good that car drives itself and is only getting better.
I owned an X5 before this and loved the performance of it but maintenance is expensive. It was a fun car to drive if you don’t plan to keep it for more than 3 years.

95K miles is still young for a gx. That ride should push 200K
Try 300 to 400k if maintained regularly. That's a Toyota V8 inside a very hardy and robust body on frame vehicle, built like a tank.

Why? A 2015 Lexus has plenty of life left
