The best option on that list is a ‘23 GX. The values for those have remained high since Toyota keeps crapping the bed on the turbo engines.
You probably won’t notice a big difference between a new GX460 vs yours. Find a good inde mechanic, spend a few dollars to fix whatever is wrong with your car, and get a nice detail. That’ll be less than the tax on the newer one. If a light refresh doesn’t scratch the itch, get the newer one.

As someone who's dreading replacing this beat up 06 4runner, there's a reason why I've been stalling.

What model GX do you have currently? Will you be selling it? I might be interested.
My concubine needs it which means I must get it for her.

We have always kept our vehicles 10 years, then traded for a new model.
But my Toyota Avalon is now 10 and, due to reduced mileage during Covid and working from home more, it has less than 80k miles. It’s in perfect condition, so I just can’t justify trading or selling it. Gonna let this one keep rolling for at least 3 or so more years. Huge money saver.

Toyota or Lexus. However, if you can wait, let Tpypta work through their problems. If you can't the 4Runner is my choice. To get an edge with Toyotas, get one made in Japan, all 4Runners and many Lexuse sare. The quality standards are better at the Japanese plants. Look at the vin number, if it starts with a J, then it's made in Japan.
I know, I'd love to purchase an American product but from my experience, that's the way to go.

I have a 2006 Lexus LX470 and I still love it. 235k miles and still running well. I've had to do maintenance but I've never had an automobile that has served my family so well.

People in the car business tell me the best thing they ever started was the lease programs. They get a car back, 1-5 years old, get it certified, put it up for sale again. Cant lose.

And pay yourself the note…if u could afford the note to begin with, you can afford to invest the monthly note (eg, Vanguard VTSAX). Let those dollars be soldiers and fight for you.
Next vehicle has $50k+ ready for you.
Some people might need to do this just to afford a car in 10 years.

I like having a physical key so much I might never buy another car again. Literally might keep my 2014 for the next 50 years and just replace the engine or whatever I need to do to keep it running. Almost solely to avoid owning a push button start vehicle.

This. You don’t need a new car and that Lexus will go for sooooo much longer

My heart says to go by a certified 2023 GX and drive it for another 10 years, but even those are $60k for sub 30k mile/3 year warranty vehicles.
There’s a bunch on Autotrader for about $50k. May not have a 3 year warranty left, but it’s a Lexus, so probably fine.

Your gut is telling you to replace a luxury vehicle with only 95k miles?
You mean before the biggest depreciation hits and there's zero warranty left?

Look, I remember when Avis tried to rent me a Prius in Chicago in 2007, and I couldn't figure out how to start it, and got into a PT Cruiser instead. But I also don't want a daily driver with 3 on the tree, drum brakes, and no airbags.

How much do you want for the GX?
