I get it especially if he baited it and the time he had to film.

But on the flipside…if you have a bear in your kitchen in close quarters and have a helmet and vest handy wouldnt you put it on as well? I sure as hell would.

I have often thought about keeping a vest, flashlight, pistol combo handy for those bumps in the night.

A 5.56 round is pretty lite for bear defense. While it worked, I would use 150 grains minimum

He already covered your reaction when he said "fudds are punching air right now".

You put enough 556 into anything and it will die.

The problem with a bear in close quarters is youre doing good to get off one shot, much less 10.

They move far quicker than you can react.

He knew where the bear was and already had the barrel trained on it.

Geiselle trigger means you can shoot faster than you can think.

That setup he had is the perfect setup for home defense.

Youre still going to be able to have to control multiple shots in a short span in which this bear is far quicker than you can react.

No sane person would choose 556 as a bear round.

Guess that’s where the tactical gear and night visions goggles came into play.

Bear had 8 rounds in him before it had a chance to know where it was coming from. That’s obviously plenty to put down a black bear.

How close was the bear?

If it was in his house, the bear can move faster than he can react. Hes a dummy

With 223/556, you have far less margin for error than you do mid/big bore.

Its not smart. This is close to Tim Treadwell territory.

i was JUST in the shower yesterday looking out to my backyard and wondered “which weapon am I grabbing if I saw a bear”. My first thought was his set up. Then I thought, nah, 556 for a bear? No way. So I decided on the bullpup 12 ga with buckshot. However after this, I may reconsider

How did we arrive to the fact that it was the devil's juice? It might have been cranberry juice.

I'm not judging.

According to google:

Bear is a gay slang term. It describes a hairier and/or heavy-set gay, bisexual or pansexual man. A bear typically projects an image of rugged masculinity. Some bears present a very masculine, over-the-top image of a ruggedly masculine man.

Sooooo checks out

Consider me skeptical of the guy who takes time to set up a video camera or phone to make a video of him shooting a bear is in his house and then lecture viewers on protecting those in his care.

Gene Moe killed a coastal brown bear with a knife.

It was all he had, Gene wouldnt recommend fighting a bear with a knife.

Nor would Gene recommend fighting a bear with a 556
