Attention potential Biden voters, this guy may be a Democrat or have dementia like Biden.. he doesn’t know what he’s talking about so please disregard.... if you feel sick and have been exposed get tested... obviously if you’ve been exposed and you feel normal you are not going to be on a ventilator or be admitted to hospital? no need to get tested because you’re going to spend money one day but then could feel bad the next day and be positive and spend the same amount or more money, maybe insurance won’t approve another test and your on the hook for a ton of money.... the rapid test is almost 300$...listen to your body, Even if you had a positive test, are you not going to be admitted to hospital or die unless your vitals are abnormal,....exactly what cdc has been saying.... feel short of breath/listen to your body go to Hospital/PCP/urgent care, etc. do not take this as formal Or legal medical advice, if you have any concerns which some people seem to, seek immediate medical attention for any concerns about the coronavirus or any other medical conditions/symptoms/concerns

You’re welcome and definitely a bizarre/unruly person , goodnight, really hope you don’t get Covid, wear your mask and wash your hands, avoid touching your face

Really Scary that I made your night.....Have one more response since you really do seem clueless. Had a person whose wife died same day from Covid -19, I could sympathize cause I lost my mom from cancer a year ago... tears were shed... but hey man as long as you’re feeling good and I’m the moron then you should continue to sleep well... meanwhile I can’t sleep

You're a health professional and you are actively telling people who have been directly exposed to the virus, not to get tested? Let me know what hospital you work at.
When we (infection control nurse here) determine an exposure to COVID in staff at my healthcare system...we don’t recommend testing either....unless they are symptomatic.
Exposed staff that are not symptomatic continue to work. Everyone here already wears a surgical mask at work all day long. If staff ever develop symptoms they leave work if at work or call out sick if at home and contact employee health to arrange for testing.
Exposed staff that have no symptoms should be taking measures at home for 14 days. Don’t leave house unless for work. Wear a mask in public. Try the isolate from others in the home as much as possible, etc.
This is all per CDC guidelines for healthcare workers.

I had 6 tests in one week. I went 5-1
What would you like to know?

This isn’t thought to have any impact on your chances of getting or how bad COVID affects a person. They thought it made people higher risk at the beginning but it turned out that was not the case

Ask for the rectal test. More accurate and faster turnover
From what I’ve read:
The swab they use has a large diameter, but it’s warm. Someone told me the doctor had to strap the swab to his waist and brace both hands on your shoulders to get the sample. To get the sample they have to vigorously thrust the swab over and over. As they withdraw the swab they instill a soothing warm fluid as sort of a balm. At least that’s what the article said.

I’ve had it done twice now because of work
It’s uncomfortable sure but it really isn’t that bad. It only lasts a couple seconds

I had it in March. The only symptoms I had were a sore throat, mild cough, and temperature in the mid 99s. The only reason they ordered the test for me because I had been to Mardi Gras exactly 30 days before, although I found out later that a co-worker whom I was around about a week before had it.
The test doesn’t hurt, but they do shove that swab way up there. I saw spots for about five minutes afterwards but it wasn’t bad. The test ended up positive, but my main symptom was fatigue and temperature stayed in the mid 99s for about 6 days. I cut my grass on the Saturday after my test after I was running “normal” temperatures and noticed I was short of breath. Ultimately, for me, it wasn’t a big deal and I felt far better than the flu I had two years ago. Also, nobody else in my family caught it.

Wasn't pleasant, but no big deal.

Nose. Tickled. No pain but I’m a man.
This. It didn't hurt at all, just a weird tickle in the back of my nasal cavity.
Just shove a q-tip back there until it hits gray matter, it's not that bad.

When was the positive one? Test 3 or 6?
Posted on 7/3/20 at 7:11 am to Sailor
There's a home test for covid that's not too painful.
Put on your mask and check. If your hand is bigger than your mask, you have covid.

I did the self swab test at CVS. Really easy and not a big deal. You only put a swab up your nose about an inch and twist around for 15 seconds
If the CVS stores are are doing it your area, I recommend. Here they are recommending that people with light/mild symptoms or people exposed but have no symptoms use the capacity provided by places like CVS.
