Seems like you're not withholding enough throughout the year, you need to fix your elections on your w4.

Or, invest the $1k that is owed for the year. Earn interest on the government's money is not only a patriotic thing to do, it is smart wealth-building...

Bro wtf

Are you a tax professional or do you hold securities licenses? You should not be handing out tax advice all willy nilly in a public forum like this regardless.

$30k in mortgage interest, charitable donations, and property tax is pretty steep. I'm assuming you live in a state with high property taxes.

Waiting for 1099s. Should be faster to get those nowadays. Surprised how many posters here have already filed. With rise of retail investor I'd expect more to have brokerage accounts. Maybe some don't realize they need to file 1099 data. My nephew has had Acorns and RH accounts for years and wasn't aware until I mentioned it recently because I gifted him some shares and reminded him to report the sale

I don’t have all my stuff yet to file. I pay mine on. April 15 and a half. Progressive tax rates/brackets should be outlawed.

If you are a w 2 worker, look at your most recent check stub. The FIT withheld should be at least 10% of the gross in order to assure a refund.

Looking at my latest ADP paystub I pay $327.17 every two weeks in Federal Income Taxes.

File 2025 and I owe $1,000.00.

Sorry you're poor. You should learn HVAC.

On this board we have everything from kids working part time to people worth many millions of dollars (I’m neither of those things. Somewhere in the middle).

So lots of the generalizations thrown around in this thread probably aren’t accurate.
