All of our dogs have several nick names
I hate the name of my parents new puppy so I call her Tiny Dog
that turned into tater tot
She doesn’t answer her name anymore

They can have as many as you want them to have.

Is Seamus pronounced like "Shay-mus"?

Dogs respond well to 2 syllable names
The more I say it the more it feels right.
Jetsam
It’s not a common word/name.
It has a deeper meaning.
It’s got the nautical tie in.
I have an affinity for cast off things. Ones that were tossed off the ship.
And dammit, there’s the LSU tie in.
We won a championship we weren’t supposed to win with a Coach many didn’t want.
With a Quarterback that was cast aside and told he wasn’t good enough.
Players that before the season started weren’t even mentioned for what they accomplished

Deschain
It’s two syllables and pays tribute to one of the great literary characters.

Jetsam looks like a good boy

Youll look back and wonder how you questioned whether to do it. Kids will have beat friend.
Scamp sounds cool but hes gotta have a pedigree name with moxie.
Freemantors scampy love child with latoya...scamp for short.
Eta: go Re-read the post about the guy having to put down his lab and jump in.

With that breed mix, he'll be smart, attentive and loyal.
Keep the little guy. He wins, your kids win, you win.

And a hell of a lap dog, due to the dachshund.

You know you’re gonna keep him, but heads up, he’s gonna shed like a bitch. Get used to it.

Kids are still on vacation, and wouldn’t that be an unexpected surprise they’d remember.
Well dammit.
I can’t very well find the perfect name for the pup and then not keep the scurvy dog.
And when the worlds going to hell, we’re coming out of the craziest period many have experienced, and in the maelstrom there’s this little castoff, in a year of chaos, just needing a rope to grab on to pull him to safety.
It would be an affront to fate to deny the little guy a second chance. Because sometimes when we feel like we are drowning, we just need someone to pull us out the water.
Lol and now I recall my first dog was named Corona.
When the universe presents you with a choice, you should say yes.
Jetsam is coming home tomorrow

I told you that you already knew the answer. Congrats!
And welcome, Jet!

I read a great book ab dogs. I don’t remember the title. The dog man maybe?
Anyhow one of things I took away was when they said - and I’m not quoting- no matter how you came to be your dogs owner, you were set along a path that meant your exact dog was meant for you.
