Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now. Here's looking at you, kid.

Could have eaten something that is not passing very well. My lab mix ate my one of my son’s socks. Threw up up a few days latter.
He did this numerous times. Once he threw it up and ate it again before I came back with a paper towel.
He would eat something bag and the. Go a few days without really eating and then throw it up of shite it out. Then would eat like normal again.

It's probably an obstruction

I had a ~2 year old lab that ate like the cap to an oil jug or something and it caused very similar symptoms to what yours is experiencing. He had to have surgery and the longer you wait the more likely there is to be dead intestinal tissue that can rupture and if it ruptures it's game over. In 8 years as far as I know it's the only thing like that he ate that he shouldn't have.
Same dog died from a tumor at 8 years old, I could've taken him to the vet earlier. It probably wouldn't have made any difference but don't be me, take the dog to the vet

Obvious obstruction. The short getting better is when it shifts, then it settles and symptoms return.
Get doggo to vet pronto.

More than likely its gastrointestinal irritation, but it could also be that your dog swallowed a foreign object. If the dog isn't better by tomorrow bring it to the vet. Could be a partial blockage.

Yeah if you can afford it, you need to get to an emergency vet asap. With as long as it’s gone, he needs an x ray. Hopefully it’s just an obstruction and not something worse, but him not having passed it yet would have me seriously worried.

Update: X-rays shows an obstruction but I couldn’t make out what it was and neither could they. He’s going to need surgery and be in the hospital until Monday. I could tell the doctor was hesitant to give me the estimate but she she gave it I didn’t even hesitate. $7700 on the low end and $10,000 on the high end. I wasn’t about to put my dog down and I’m just glad I can afford it. Now I’ll just be worried all weekend hoping everything goes well and I don’t get stuck with a $7700 bill and no dog to bring home. Thwnk you to everyone who was supportive and gave me advice!

I have a 14 month old black lab.
Probably cute as hell and yet no pics?
If you can not wait till Monday for your vet, do you have a 24 / 7 / 365 clinic nearby?

Sounds like a foreign body ingestion. Or a serious illness. Go to a good vet asap. Prayers.

For real, let us know how Drake does.

Glad to see a positive update, I’m so glad you took him in!!
I’m wishing him a safe surgery and speedy recovery! Thank God for emergency vets, the expense is worth it!

Yeah I know some people would be like “you spent $7700 on a dog?!” Absolutely! I lost my bulldog suddenly to a heart attack last January and honestly if I had to go through that again right now they’d have to admit me to a mental hospital for depression. I’m still not over my other dogs death and Drake is the dog that I got after him so I’ll gladly pay whatever it costs to keep him around.

Get insurance on your pup. Prob $50 a month.
I have insurance on my frenchies because they’re dumb.

Every chocolate lab I've known, usually through roommates, would eat the wall. Not the wooden borders or doorframes, just the drywall.
Yep. When I was much younger my boss asked me to house sit his chocolate lab. I was single and the $100 bucks he paid me so he and his wife could go for a weekend getaway was nice. That lab had literally chewed through the drywall. He was a good boy though and a hell of a hunter.
