My college ring just started fitting again. I lost about 50lbs. Started getting in shape for the Saints 5k run two years ago then just kept up with it. First time I fit it in probably 10 years.

I used my Dad's HS ring. It was beautiful and much nicer than the one I could buy. Was not interested in college ring and did not have the money. My son went to the same HS. I gave him my Dad's ring. He lost it 2 weeks later. Not sure I'll ever forgive him.

No clue who has my high school ring. I still think about getting a LSU graduation ring from time to time. It’s only been 25 years.

My wife works for a jeweler part time and she has bought TONS of class rings from people that realize it is just wasting space. With the increase in gold prices, most people have definitely come out ahead.

I gave my high school ring to the girl I was dating at the time and she wore it on a chain. Never got it back when we broke up. My LSU ring still fit the last time I pulled it out of my safe but that was a few years ago.

My son is getting my ring to be used as a “legacy ring”. Rummel hasn’t changed their rings in over 50 years and still uses Balfour rings. His will be pretty unique, I got out of Rummel in ‘82, he’s graduating in 28, he’ll have a nice palindrome on it…..
And my daughter is using my wife’s Dominican ring…
Pretty sure they’re a much more solid rings than the ones today…

I got a HS ring and LSU ring. Wore the LSU ring for a couple of years after college, now it sits in my safe deposit box. Still glad I got it though. Now we live up outside Chicago. Neither of my kids even wanted a HS ring, not even a thing up here, at least at their school. I don't know of any of their friends who had one. Same with letter jackets. I still have mine in a closet at my parents house. My son got one for football and wrestling, but my daughter (no pics) did not want to get one for softball, just not that big of a deal up here I guess.

I got both a high school and college rings because of tradition and mainly because my parents really wanted me to have them and paid for them.
Oddly enough, I had completely forgotten about my high school ring until my parents found it at their house a couple months ago. I tried it on and it fit perfectly. I was playing multiple sports and doing a lot of lifting during high school. My college ring is way too small these days. I was running a lot my junior and senior year in college and was probably the lightest I've ever been in my life. I think I weighed 185 pounds in high school and likely was something like 155-160 my last couple years in college.
I now weigh what I did in high school, but without the being in shape part or it.

I have no idea where my high school ring is. Lost to time. But I doubt it would fit me today.
I rarely wear it, but my LSU ring still fits.
Now my dad, he wore his LSU ring all the time.
His on the left, mine is on the right

Do schools get any kickbacks from the ring companies?

Balfour rings.
they were a big supplier when I was a kid, there was another guy, former LSU, and I think NFL player, who was involved with Balfour in some capcity, maybe he had a distributorship or something

My high school ring was stolen from my gym locker. The next school year, a girl was bragging about a guy asking her to wear his ring. The ring gets passed around and my sister sees it, looks in the inner band and sees my initials. So we recover the stolen ring.
10 years later it is stolen during a burglary at my home. Guess it wasn't meant for me to have it

Neither my high school or college ring fit me. They are kind of pointless.
One of my LSU classmates got a really high quality watch with an LSU face. Probably still wears it from time to time. Seems like a much more practical choice looking back on it.
GEAUX TIGERS!
