I renewed today.

$2,100 increase over last year's $1,200 increase.

Something has to give.

There's no scientific evidence that climate change is increasing hurricane frequency and intensity. In fact, the science we have states that climate change is not causing this.

As for the marshes eroding there's an easy way to fix it. Climate change isn't causing it. The levees are. Let the Mississippi change course and the marshes will come back. Of course, you'll sink a bunch of towns and cause other untold billions in damages, but the marshes will returned.

It couldn't possibly be Louisiana's powerful plaintiff's trial bar who, despite a Republican supermajority in the legislature, have resisted meaningful change to Louisiana's bad faith laws, which they exploit at every turn, could it?

How then are they billion dollar companies with massive profits? How can say State Farm proudly sponsor large sporting events for example? It’s your money doing this because you are paying too much for insurance. And now our insurance commissioner wants to give them more money to incentivize them to write policies? Where is that money coming from? Again, from you.

Here we go again...

The people are the ones to blame for the bad faith verdicts and the bad players in the industry. Look up Apex Roofing and McClenny Mosely.

Exactly what percentage of profit is acceptable for a billion dollar insurance company? Billions of dollars don’t just accumulate in random companies without the expectation of a return on that investment.

Don't confuse them with truth.

Their approved source of info told them so.

Public adjusters and Plaintiff attorney con game will have to give. Homeowner's insurance is not for a new roof if you do not have a sudden and accidental covered loss and it is not to remodel your home.

No commissioner of insurance is going to be able to fix this. Look at it from the companies’ perspective. Would you want to write business in Louisiana? Apart from all the risk issues, the state government and judges are bought and paid for by the plaintiffs trial bar.

We are about to switch from farm bureau to kin insurance. They don't have any brick and motor offices and we found them through policy genius. Only in Texas, Louisiana and Florida right now. Has good reviews. We will save 500 a year and we are going to switch auto and save 350 a year. Just fyi

The big boys have all basically pulled out and are writing Louisiana policies under shell companies.

The ones that are left are not multi-billion companies. They exist mostly on paper and are reinsured to the hilt.

Two years ago my HO coverage was $4500 a year. Now it's $10k

insurance companies are there to make money. if the risk is high then the rates will follow. multiple hurricanes in a short period of time will greatly to actuary tales effecting the costs.

otherwise they leave all together....
