I honestly have never tasted the difference between pretty much any brand of champagne. And I've had Dom. It all tastes the same to me.
For wine, much different for me. I've never had super expensive wine, but some of the ones in the $100-$150 I've had are noticeably much better than what I'm used to. I hated Caymus, though.
I have Educated Guess, Substance "Cs", Justin, and the Indian Wells version of Chateau St Michelle in my regular for-the-house rotation. So we ain't talking fancy stuff here.. just a little nicer than what I used to drink. The "Cs" is a damn good deal at $17-$19. Justin is $26 at my normal store, but everywhere else seems to sell it for $32 which is absurd.

There is awful cheap Brut. But segura reigns sumpreme.
I also enjoy Kirkland’s Chardonnay for $7.
My FIL has a very impressive wine cellar. I’ll sneak a few good bottles here and there. He knows his shite. I don’t have time to read wine lists.

I just got three bottles at $9/each in Belle Chasse. People love it over here.
