Shreveport, actually huge amount of development... all of yourree drive was cotton fields and elderberry booming now... but more crime. Haven’t lived there since I was 18 over 20 years ago

Bogalusa.......More poor people. The mill kept giving all the good jobs to the same families for 50 years. Bunch of poors, bunch of middle class. Sad to watch.

Born and reared around Bogalusa. It wasn’t a bad little town in the 70’s but, even then, people were leaving. It’s a real craphole now. I go there every few months or so to visit my parents gravesite and hardly ever drive into town. It just seems like a miserable place.

Grew up in Vegas. Californians and illegals came in droves. You do the math

Tiny town of 150 in East Feliciana parish. Lots of kids running around plus lots of really old homes that were so cool. Walked 1/2 mile to go hunting and fishing. 2 miles to swim in Thompson Creek. Except for a few old people place is totally culcha or methheads now. So sad. When my mom is gone (she's in her 80's) have no reason to ever go back there again.

New Orleans was already going down in 1980 (I just didn't realize how much at the time) when I moved to Houston for work. Nowadays when I go back, I usually just stay in and around Metairie, but that's changed too!

Born and raised in Midland Michigan. Left in 1979 and then went back in 1996 till 2000. It really had not changed. Now I’m not sure but with it being the corporate hq of Dow Chemical it will always be a nice place to raise kids. Zero crime. No bus stations and the only rr track is near the Dow plant. It’s a nice town of about 35,000, but people are snobby and think their shite don’t stink.

Baton Rouge was actually on the upswing during the years of Kip Holden’s administration. Downtown came back to life, MidCity began to thrive, and the overall stagnation the city had been in seemed to be letting up. Then came Broome and all that ended.

Between the civil rights shite and shutting down the Air Force Base, was the beginning of the end for Selma. All those Politicians(race baiters) go back every year to march across the bridge, amazing they can’t see the shite hole now! The Congress Woman is from there, Terri Sewell, and she is the Queen of the Democrats and their racebaiting.

Nashville.
Like all changes, some are good, and some are bad.
-I miss no traffic and getting across town in no time.
-I miss how laid back it was. Now, it’s become much more “posh” and shiny. It used to be an old school, meat and three, country western and bluegrass (not that shite you hear today) town.
-I miss the politics. Even though the city was always predominately Democrat, it was still much more socially conservative. The transplants have brought their political ideals, which is fine, but they are much more in your face about it. It’s off putting.
-I really miss the politeness. It was always, and still is, just less so, a polite and help your neighbor town. The influx of transplants from the West Coast, Chicago, and Michigan have made it much less so.
-That said, they’ve cleaned up certain areas (Broadway, the Gulch, East Nashville, Germantown, Sylvan Park, The Nations). Aside from parts of East Nashville, these are areas you would never really consider buying a home. Now, you’re lucky to find a good home under $400,000 in these areas.

Grew up in DeQuincy. Town around 3,000. Still a 2A school. Fausto’s Fried Chicken closed a few years ago. Was around since the 80’s. Was like a landmark for the town. Added a second dollar general and building an O’Reillys as we speak. Other than that same ole same ole.

grew up in Central in the 80s to mid 90s. It looks a lot different in certain parts than I remember. It's grown quite a bit.
