CHS, SJA, Episcopal, and Dunham (maybe) pat teachers almost equal to their public school counterparts.

You will have less classes but more responsibilities to the students.

Was is a special job? VDOE has no masters requirement.

Fairfax County public schools. I know it was important for her to get her masters but in NOVA it may have been to give her a competitive advantage.

Check the licensing policy in Louisiana. Charter schools and private schools often do not have a certification requirement. Also, substitute teach in the schools/districts you have interest in to get an idea of where you wish to teach. You'll meet teachers who have the proper and only perspective of what teaching is and isn't in that particular school or district.

You should apply at St Joseph’s Academy so we can see you in the news after a few weeks.

Ive heard less pay, but better quality of life maybe

Can't speak for the others, but pay at CHS is pretty damned close to EBR and surrounding parishes. It's the retirement where there's a big difference. Quality of life makes up for that in a lot of ways.

Write a resume that will entice them into giving you an interview. Wow them on the interview. Use phrases like, "It has always been my goal to (Bla Bla Bla) and I see this as the perfect opportunity to achieve that goal." The throw the statement, "I have been aware of the excellent reputation of this (Bla, Bla, Bla) program/school (Bla, Bla, Bla) and really want to be a part of your (bla, bla, bla)." Whatever you do, don't tell them you have a lot to contribute. They might ask you what you have, and then you will need to give a specific answer.

Good luck on achieving your dream. Please leave the young womens alone after school, or in the janitor's or supply closet. Never have a counseling session in your car. See the statement, "Oh Mr. Boo, I need to pass this course so badly to get into Tulane. I'll just do anything to get a better grade on that last test" as the sound of a loaded gun against your head being cocked. Prison is not a nice place.
