I know someone that just had a baby after many years of trying. She is 36 and had a preemie in NICU for 2-3 weeks. All is well now but baby has reflux. As soon as you forget about it you'll conceive. Just please don't be KK and have sex like er my gawd 500 times a day.

but I have a hard time believing some 5 year old will appreciate Rome or Tokyo.
They won't. They will despise it and resent you as a parent. But f*ck them, I'm doing it to get them a stamped passport and feel better about my life, by making others feel beneath me.

Not sure I would want to go a dozen times, but you have to admit that Dismey is a hell of a nice place...
Honestly, I know plenty of folks that go to the beach year after year....

i've been to DC.
lots of museums
some cool building
i wouldn't have given 2 shits about it from birth till maybe 16.
I can't imagine i would have given a frick about most of chicago outside of wrigley field.
I would love Colorado, but your kids can't enjoy the best part...
unless you're the coolest parent ever.

I think he has one kid under the age of 5 and they've been to WDW 17 times, not including 4 Disney Cruises.
I'll admit, we just booked a trip for October, but my kids are 11 and 8 and this will be their first trip. We also do ski vacations, beach vacations, we take them on hunting and fishing vacations, Washingtion DC, etc....they are excited about the Disney vacation but they also understand that it's not going to happen every year. We aren't Disney weirdo's. I cant even fathom how some people go every year much less multiple times a year.

we used to do the Disney thing quite a bit along with the beach but now my kids are old enough and we spent a week in D.C.
Best money Ive ever spent...my kids couldnt get enough of Air and Space/Natural History...got to see the tomb of George Washington/JFK, the Declaration of Independence, Magna Carta, etc. They absorbed all that history like sponges. And loved riding the Metro. win win win.

My dad was a truck driver and my mom made a modest income at an insurance office and somehow they went snow skiing in Colorado every year and did kid vacations that were pretty great every year. We camped a lot but they also took us to Disney World and skiing a few times.
I guess it was just different then. Adjusted for inflation my wife and I make much more than my parents ever did and we can't roll like they did as far as vacations.

With Disneyland like a 6 hour drive away I'm tempted to go just cause I've never been(only been to DW as a kid). However.....I always think of other places I would rather drive to instead. Think I'll save that road trip for when I'm a parent.

I agree DC is better for older kids, but you can entertain younger ones too. Any major city will have things for kids to do. Houston and San Antonio both have a lot to offer for a short cheap trip as well.

6 hour drive put me in Tallahassee. Went to Publix and asked for the Seminole discount on crab legs. Dude behind the counter laughed

Because people are freaking weird.
I've been 3 times and that's too many.
There is just way too much to see in the U.S. besides just Disney.

That's painting with a very broad stroke. Both of my parents are very well traveled and yet took us to Disney when we were young. It's a convenient and fun imo vacation for families and small kids. If you keep going back well into your adult years like it's the greatest place on earth, that's a little different.
I agree with you that it's fine to go to once. There are very few places I would advocate never going to. That's why I said "I feel like Disney is the place to go back to...".
I guess my overall sentiment is rather than seeing Cinderellas castle, why not go to an actual castle? Instead of going to Epcot and getting "authentic food from _____", why not go abroad and actually see it in real life? Just my .02¢.

What if people just like Disney? We've taken our kids to D.C, Aspen, Charleston, Michigan, San Diego, Mexico, NYC, Seattle, Tennessee, etc. They ask us every year to go to Disney. My girls are 17 and 14. They've been to Disney every year of their lives. We usually take a summer vacation and a winter vacation. Disney is the only place they want to keep going back to. Just let people be. It's not that hard really.
