If we're being honest, there's a lot more pros about having a house on wheels in South Louisiana than we want to admit.

I grew up with 3 kids who lived in trailer parks. One of them was a jerk but the other two I was friends with. All three were single parent with no siblings. All three singlewides. Plenty of room for 1 adult and 1 kid.
My wife's grandparents lived in a double wide, it was huge. They were old and retired, on a bunch of land in God's Country in Oconee County. It was huge. Never a problem with space while hosting Thanksgiving with a large extended family.
I've never necessarily looked down on trailer living, in fact I've fantasized about it as a retirement option. But as has already been pointed out, they ain't "cheap" anymore.

Trailer floor vents at a friends in college have saved my life on more than one occasion. Without them I would’ve died due to hangover

My wife and I were looking at buying a brand new 4 bd/2ba doublewide when we first got married back in 2006. $54K delivered and set up. We decided not to go that route and found a house that we liked. We looked the other day, just to see how much they are going for. $180K +
