He has isolated himself a good bit, when he goes out he sits in the corner and sulks. I have no actual occurrence to pinpoint this new attitude towards so I'm not exactly sure.

I think just the opposite. Buying a new gun has always made me happy.

You can start by just talking to him and asking him what's going on, whats on his mind....

We have tried sitting him down and talking to him, but he's too stubborn, he doesn't really want to hear it.

He probably doesn't want to admit anything is wrong. Nobody wants to look weak in front of their friends. Even if he refuses to talk, reminding him that you're there for him could make all the difference in the world.

I've been down this road before and almost daily I wish I would have done things differently.

Have there been any major events in his life lately? Break up, death in the family, lay off? It could be a temporary thing while he deals with such issues or it could be a longterm thing. Best thing to do would be to call him out while he is actively being negative. It may force him to get away from the negative thoughts as they occur. If he starts saying something negative counter with a positive. Talk to him about good things in his life. If you don't see an improvemeny suggest he seeks professional help

21-26, while i dont recall much, I know I had the time of my life. Women, traveling, friends out the arse(before everyone got married), going out. Lots of fun shite to do when your 21. If hes that pouty, and depressed id say go to a shrink.

Buy him a hooker for the weekend (a really hot one, don't be a fricking cheapskate... he's your friend and he's in need).

1. Have friend get a little tipsy
2. Slip a ground up Viagra into his drink
3. Invite hooker over
4. Leave

After the weekend is over your friend will either thank you profusely for providing a venue for him to release his frustration and angst, or curse your name for hooking him up with some crazy ho-bag who gave him crotch-crickets.

Either way, whatever was bothering him before will be back-burnered and thus he will be on the road to recovery.

I'd ask him about it and tell him that he should see someone. Mental health is nothing to mess with. That being said, be careful how far down the rabbit hole you plan on going to help him. I've done it a couple of times, and it can trigger some old habits/feelings in yourself.

Sometimes understand that they won't change themselves and you just have to let them self destruct and get the frick away.

He probably feels guilt from banging your old lady. Give him time, he will get over it.

Also google that Dang Dennis Experiment and show him fat Sampson dancing in a thong. If that doesn't cure him, nothing will.

Seriously though, I hope your friend gets help.
